For this assignment, we had to sketch a word that manipulates the word’s letterforms to communicate the meaning of the word. Once we sketched a couple of these, we then had to bring it into illustrator to create a finalized version. Below - you will find my sketches along with my final images.
The first word I started with was "WATER". I thought it would be nice to ease into this assignment and start with something kind of basic. Although it did not turn out perfect, I think it's easy to tell the shape of the raindrop.

The second image I created was "CLOUD". I personally like this one better, although I did not like how the D kind of looks like a B.

The last word I came up with was "STRONG". I wanted a bit of a challenge and this sure enough was. I wanted to make it look like an arm flexing. Hopefully you can tell thats what I was going for!
